The University of Washington Information School is broadening and deepening its program in information management. We seek a creative, energetic, forward-thinking individual to help catalyze this growth as a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer. This individual should have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and be excited by and able to thrive in a diverse, intellectually stimulating, multi-disciplinary environment.

The successful candidate will join a broad-based, inclusive Information School that offers multiple degree programs and is committed to the values of leadership, innovation, and diversity. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. Lecturing faculty are an integral part of the faculty of the iSchool, teaching across undergraduate and graduate programs. We provide mentorship and a career path for lecturing faculty, including opportunities for leadership within the School. Candidates for Lecturer, or Senior Lecturer should have a background and competencies for excellence in teaching, and provide evidence or demonstrate potential that they are excellent instructors.

Information management is an emerging field with the purpose of designing, developing, managing, and using information with insight and innovation to support decision making and create value for individuals, organizations, communities, and societies. While all areas of information management are welcome, we are particularly interested in lecturers who can complement iSchool expertise in one or more of the following areas:

*         Information management and consulting

*         Data science and analytics

*         Information assurance, security, and governance

*         Information, society and policy

This is a full-time appointment with faculty voting rights, in which candidates typically teach for 9 months per year (excluding summer) although opportunities for summer teaching may be available. The appointment is at the rank of Lecturer Full-time or Senior Lecturer Full-time commensurate with qualifications and experience (opportunities to teach in the summer may become available). Applicants must have a Masters Degree or equivalent degree by date of appointment. A PhD or equivalent and three years of professional experience and prior teaching experience is desirable.
