The 3rd Symposium on Healthcare & Analytics in Research & Practice (SHARP) will be held in the scenic city of Chattanooga, TN and hosted by the College of Business, University of Tennessee Chattanooga.

SHARP 2014 is themed around leveraging analytics and big data approaches for next generation innovation in healthcare, smart grid, consumer sector and beyond.The conference sponsors include IBM, Teradata, CoLab, Market Street Solutions, PYA Analytics, University of Tennessee Chattanooga and others.

Analytics driven developments in various spheres such as healthcare, smart grid, public health, entertainment, consumer, etc. can strongly influence the technological evolution, guide policy making, while reshaping the future and catalyze the innovation culture at the global, regional and metropolitan levels.  Various private and public open-data initiatives are going to be the key drivers for this change. Such an approach requires a new thinking blended with state-of-art new business, technology and analytics skills and strong scientific research. The conference will seek to identify the opportunities and understand various mechanisms that could make contributions in the field of applied analytics while taking us on an integrated, technology driven, innovation path for the future.

Submissions are invited in healthcare analytics, smart grid and any other application areas of analytics in the following forms:

-       Research summary of 1000 words or less (peer reviewed)

-       Abstract of 100 words or less

-       Panel proposals of 1000 words or less (include panelists biography)

-       Proposal for Poster presentations 500 words or less

-       Poster/Prototype demonstrations
