PERSUASIVE 2015 - The 10th International Conference on Persuasive
Technology

June 3-5, 2015 Chicago, IL USA

First Call For Papers

Persuasive Technology is a vibrant interdisciplinary research field,
focusing on the design and development of interactive technologies aimed at
changing users’ attitudes or behaviors through persuasion and social
influence, but not through coercion or deception.

The 10th International Conference on Persuasive Technology (PERSUASIVE
2015) will be hosted in Chicago, Illinois (USA) on June 3-5, and will build
on the success of previous conferences held at Padua, Sydney, Linköping,
Columbus, Copenhagen, Claremont, Oulu, Palo Alto, and Eindhoven. Academics,
students, and practitioners interested in theories, design and applications
development related to persuasion are invited to submit their work for
presentation at the conference. The language of the conference is English.

If you would like to be added to our distribution list or have questions,

SPECIAL THEME:

SUBMISSION TYPES

PAPER: this format is suitable for works that have been completed with
results at the time of submission and, regardless of the length of the
paper, are self-sufficient scientific contributions. Papers can be short (6
pages) or long (12 pages) in Springer LNCS format, and describe work not
presented, published or simultaneously submitted elsewhere. We encourage
authors to use all allotted pages for their type of submission. Accepted
papers will be included in the conference proceedings and be devoted one
timeslot (10 to 20 minutes) for oral presentation.

POSTER: this format is suitable for descriptions of small
studies/experiences, of project outlines, of works still in progress.
Authors should submit a 2-page abstract in Springer LNCS format. Accepted
posters will be included in the adjunct conference proceedings. Posters
will be displayed and presented during a dedicated session of the
conference. Poster presenters are required to register and be present at
the conference in order to describe the content to the visitors.

DOCTORAL CONSORTIUM ABSTRACT: The Doctoral Consortium is a special session
of the conference where PhD students in the early phases of their research
can receive advice in a constructive and informal atmosphere. Students
present and discuss their research with other PhD students and a panel of
established researchers in the area of Persuasive Technology. Students
interested in participating in the Doctoral Consortium should submit a
2-page abstract in Springer LNCS format describing their research question,
its position with respect to the state of the art, their research plans and
methodology, ideas, and results achieved so far. Accepted abstracts will be
included in the adjunct conference proceedings.

WORKSHOPS/TUTORIALS: Workshops and tutorials are meant to gather a number
of people to work interactively on a topic and exchange ideas or to learn a
specific practice; there might be short presentations but the discussion
will prevail, leading to new advances. Approved workshops and tutorials
will be announced on the website; they will actually take place during a
half-day session before the conference if a minimum number of 8 attendees
will register for them. Candidate organizers can submit their proposal as a
2-page description format including the name of the organizers,
motivations, organization, expected outcome, list of discussants/supporting
materials.

DEMO & SHOWCASES: if you want to demonstrate a piece of persuasive
technology during the demo session so that attendees can try and interact
with it, please submit a 2-page description, including authors, purpose of
the system, status of implementation and deployment, contents of the demo
to be shown at the conference, equipment. If you want to show a commercial
