Tenure Track Assistant Professor in Information Systems



Lehigh University’s Department of Management seeks to fill one tenure
track position in information systems at the assistant professor level
beginning August 2015.  We are seeking candidates who have the ability
to conduct scholarly research aimed at publication in top journals and
capability of outstanding classroom performance at both the
undergraduate and graduate levels. Possible teaching areas include
data analytics, system analysis and design, and/or demand planning.
Interdisciplinary interest between information systems and supply
chain management is highly desirable. Team teaching and web-based
instruction are likely. The candidate must hold a Ph.D. in Information
Systems or a related area by the time of employment in August 2015.



Lehigh University is located in Bethlehem, PA (pop. 73,000) which is
in the center of the Lehigh Valley (pop. 820,000).  A convenient
location between New York City and Philadelphia provides access to
many corporations and financial institutions.  The Lehigh Valley is
economically vibrant and provides the best of urban, suburban, and
rural living (low cost of living, open space, and a rich array of
cultural activities in the area and nearby).  Founded in 1865, Lehigh
University is a private research institution with about 4,900
undergraduates and 2,200 graduate students.  Approximately 1,200
undergraduates, 450 graduate students, and 81 full time faculty
comprise the College of Business & Economics.  In addition to
offerings at the undergraduate level, an MBA, M.S. programs in
Accounting and Information Analysis, Economics, and Analytical
Finance, and an economics-based Ph.D. program are also offered.  Joint
programs exist between business and engineering both at the
undergraduate and graduate levels.  Lehigh is ranked 40th among
national research universities in the 2015 US News & World Report
survey, ranked 31st in Bloomberg BusinessWeek’s top undergraduate
business programs (12th in part-time MBA program) and placed in the
most competitive category in both Peterson’s Guide and Barron’s
