The Ted Rogers School of Management (TRSM) at Ryerson University invites applications for a tenure stream Faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor, commencing on July 1, 2015. The position is subject to final budgetary approval.

The position will have teaching and research responsibilities in the field of Health Information Management (HIM) and will be based in the School of Health Services Management (in TRSM). This position is directed to candidates who have a PhD in Health Information Management or a related field.

The position is most appropriate for candidates with strong, independent and dynamic research capabilities, evidenced by an emerging or established record of scholarly publications. Candidates must be enthusiastic about teaching and have demonstrated evidence of teaching excellence particularly at the undergraduate level, though graduate teaching may also be available. Experience working in the HIM field is an asset. Research and teaching interests could include quality management, electronic medical records, privacy, decision support and database design, all as related to HIM. The successful candidate has a capacity for collaboration and collegial service. This includes working collaboratively on research, teaching and outreach in the healthcare sector.

The School of Health Services Management offers a Bachelor of Health Administration (BHA) in Health Services Management and Health Information Management. Both programs are designed primarily for working health professionals holding information management or clinical designations. The School is certified by the Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA). The HIM program is recognized by the Canadian Health Information Management Association.
