Luleå University of Technology (LTU) invites applications for three PhD candidate positions in Information Systems

The research group of Information Systems (IS), at Luleå University of Technology (LTU) is looking for three PhD students. Information Systems is an inter-disciplinary research subject, which covers design and use of information technology in relation to people, organizations and societies. The PhD student positions are associated with three research areas:
·         Digital Service Innovation (DSI) focuses on services as a driver for individual, organizational and societal change. Examples of challenges within this area include enabling sustainable life through transformative services, creating and maintaining service innovation culture, enhancing service experience through co-creation and assessing the value of services.
·         The research topic of Information Security (InfoSec) requires understanding of the technological and organizational complexity that characterizes modern organizations and information security practices.
·         Information and Communication Technology for Development (ICT4D) refers to the use of ICT in the fields of socioeconomic and human development, especially in the context of developing countries. One of the challenges in the ICT4D research area is to understand the processes by which ICT can lead to development.
A PhD student will conduct a major part of her/his study in national, European, and worldwide projects together with the research group and innovation systems within the university as well as industry. It is expected that such projects are established within the first two years of employment in close collaboration with the IS faculty members.
