The submission deadline is November 15, 2014. Full papers, short papers,
extended abstracts, and panel/workshop proposals may be submitted.

The 16th Annual Global Information Technology Management Association
(GITMA) World conference will be held in St. Louis, Missouri USA on June

In this call, submissions are invited to the following track:


TRACK: ICT in Emerging Economies

TRACK CHAIR(S): Aykut Hamit Turan

DESCRIPTION: Emerging markets and developing economies have started to
embrace Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) for their social,
economic and human development in the last couple of decades. Hence,
recently emerging markets and developing economies, with their increasing
influence on our Globalizing World, are attracting significant interests
among Information Technology (IT) professionals and practitioners. ICTs
have been proven to be an important tool to leverage investments in
communication, education, information diffusion and access, banking,
healthcare, agriculture, government and overall development of these
particular nations. Yet, these economies present different requirements and
pose unique challenges than developed nations when implementing ICTs to
solve their real world problems. There is an urgent need to investigate how
ICTs can be powerful tools and provide affordable solutions for development
in emerging economies.

POSSIBLE TOPICS:

Topics to be discussed in this track include (but are not limited to) the
following:

   - New and innovative ICT implementations in emerging economies and
   developing countries
   - Sustainable ICTs for emerging economies and developing countries
   - ICT implementations for social, economic and human development in
   emerging markets and developing economies
   - Barriers in front of the successful implementation of ICTs in emerging
   markets and developing economies

   - E-Government for emerging economies and developing countries
   - Successful ICT implementations in emerging economies and developing
   countries
   - Factors influencing adoption process of ICTs in emerging economies and
   developing countries
   - Developing countries and ICT revolution
   - Unique requirements and necessities of ICT implementation in emerging
   economies and developing countries
   - Demographic, social and cultural issues in ICT implementation and
   adoption in emerging economies and developing countries
   - Mobile applications and ICT investments in emerging economies and
   developing countries
   - ICT implementation and infrastructure frameworks for emerging
   economies and developing countries
   - Cloud computer’s adoption and impact in emerging economies and
   developing countries
   - Efficient and effective strategies to narrow digital divine in
   emerging economies and developing countries
   - Unique problems and requirements of ICT users and vendors in emerging
   economies and developing countries
   - ICTs impacts on the development of emerging countries and vice versa

THE GITMA WORLD CONFERENCE IS BY DESIGN FOR ALL INTERNATIONAL IS/IT

JOURNAL PUBLICATION: Submissions accepted as full papers will be given an
opportunity for publication consideration in the journal: Communications of
Global Information Technology (COGIT). Paper judged as higher quality by
the reviewers will be further considered for publication on an expedited
basis in the Journal of Global Information Technology Management (JGITM),
Journal of Information Technology Cases & Applications Research (JITCAR),
International Journal of ePolitics (IJEP), and Journal of Information
Privacy and Security (JIPS).
