Vacancy: Tenure-track Position for Assistant Professor or Associate
Professor at City University of Hong Kong

The Department of Information Systems at the College of Business of the City
University of Hong Kong invites applications for one or more tenure-track
position(s) at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor
beginning in July 2015. Candidates must have received a doctorate in
Information Systems or a related area by July 2015. Candidates must also
have a strong commitment to high-quality research and excellent teaching.
For appointments at the Associate Professor level, a substantial track
record of research publications in top-tier journals is essential. For
appointments at the Assistant Professor level, strong indication of the
ability to publish in top tier journals is critical.

Successful candidates should have the ability to teach at both graduate
(MBA/MSc) and undergraduate (BBA) levels, and be able to effectively teach
large freshman classes in the Introduction to Information Management with a
strong emphasis on IT applications. Hence the demonstrated capacity to
motivate students to appreciate the value of innovative information
management on businesses in the Internet era and to excite them about
developing a career in business information services will be highly
valuable. Ability to teach other courses in Information Systems and/or
having experience in administrative work is a plus.

CityU's College of Business and Department of Information Systems
CityU's College of Business was the first business school in the
Asia-Pacific region to obtain triple accreditations by AACSB, the European
Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) and the Association of MBAs. With about
40 research and teaching staff, the Department of Information Systems is one
of the largest among such departments in the world. Our research
productivity has been ranked highly. In 2008, the Department was ranked 6th
Worldwide and the second outside the USA (Communications of the ACM). In
2012, in the first H-Index study in Management Information Systems (ACM
Transactions on Management Information Systems), six faculty from the
Department were included in the list of researchers whose H-Index was at or
above 20 based on Google Scholar
