Selected accepted papers will be invited to submit extended versions to special issues of TSC, IJSC, JWSR, and IJBPIM.
ICWS 2015 program committee invites you to participate in the 22nd edition of ICWS, to be held on June 27 - July 2, 2015, New York, USA
The IEEE International Conference on Web Services (ICWS) has been a prime international forum for researchers, academics, businesses, industry, and standard bodies to exchange the latest fundamental advances in the state of the art and practice of Web-based services, identify emerging research topics, and define the future of Web-based services. Web-based services are not limited to Web services. Instead, all Web-based services-oriented software lifecycle management is included. In 2015, we will strive to advance the largest international professional forum on Web-based services. The Proceedings of ICWS is SCI & EI indexed.
ICWS is under the umbrella of IEEE 2015 World Congress on Services (SERVICES 2015) that is the biggest international forum, formally promoted by IEEE Computer Society since 2003, to explore the science and technology of Services Computing. ICWS 2015 will co-locate with the following service-oriented sister conferences: the 8th IEEE International Conference on Cloud Computing (CLOUD 2015), the 12th IEEE International Conference on Services Computing (SCC 2015), the 4th International Congress on Big Data (BigData Congress 2015), and the 4th IEEE International Conference on Mobile Services (MS 2015). The five co-located theme topic conferences will all center around "services," while each focusing on exploring different themes (web-based services, cloud-based services, Big Data-based services, services innovation lifecycle, and mobile services).
>From technology foundation perspective, Services Computing has become the default discipline in the modern services industry. As a major implementation technology for modernizing services industry, Web services are Internet-based programmable application components published using standard interface description languages and universally available via uniform communication protocols. In its 21th version, the program of ICWS 2015 will continue to feature research papers with a wide range of topics, focusing on various aspects of Web-based services. Some of the topics include Web services specifications and enhancements, Web services discovery and integration, Web services QoS (e.g., security, performance, reliability, fault tolerance, etc.), Web services standards and formalizations, Web services modeling, Web services engineering, Web services testing, Web services-based applications and solutions, Web services realizations, semantics in Web services, Web services supporting Cloud Computing, Web services lifecycle management, and all aspects of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) infrastructure and middleware.
The technical program of ICWS 2015 will include a Research Track, an Application Track, and a Short Paper Track. The ICWS 2015 tracks seeks original, UNPUBLISHED research papers reporting substantive new work in various aspects of Web-based services. Research Track papers MUST clearly indicate their contributions to the field of Web-based services. All papers MUST properly cite related work in the field, such as those published in the proceedings of ICWS, SCC, CLOUD, SERVICES, APSCC, ECOWS, and related journals including TSC, JWSR, IJSC, and IJBPIM (see Literature Recommendations page).
All topics relevant to Web-based services are of interest. ICWS 2015 will organize refereed paper reviews in 7 research areas (themes):
Services Discovery and Recommendation - Service publishing - Service search engine - Collaborative filtering - Service mining - Service recommendation
Services Composition - Automatic service composition - Scientific workflows - Business process integration and management - Service coordination and cooperation - Service selection and composition - Service orchestration and choreography for the future Internet - Service-based data integration

Services Security and Privacy - Service security, privacy, and trust - Dependable and secure services
Services Applications beyond Web - Service implementation and deployment - Web services for Internet of Things - Mobile Web services - Social services - Scientific service - Grid and utility services - Embedded services - Cloud services - Personalized services - Embedded services systems -Internet-based Services - Web 2.0 and Web X.0 in Web services - XaaS (everything as a service) - Cloud Computing for Internet-based services - Big Data for Internet-based services - Social network as services - RESTful Web services - Other applications
Semantic Services - Semantic Web services - Semantic service modeling - Semantics-based service discovery - Semantics-based service composition
Service Oriented Software Engineering - Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) - Service specification and modeling - Service evolution - Service Oriented Software Engineering methodologies - Future of Software Engineering for/in the Cloud - Engineering mobile service oriented systems - Formal methods in services - Empirical research in/for service-oriented systems engineering - Software engineering for adaptive service-oriented systems
All submitted manuscripts will be peer-reviewed by at least 3 program committee members. Accepted and presented papers from all ICWS tracks will appear in the conference proceedings (SCI & EI indexed) published by the IEEE Computer Society Press. Submitted Research Track and Application Track manuscripts will be limited to 8 (IEEE Proceedings style) pages and REQUIRED to be formatted using the IEEE Proceedings template. Submitted Short Paper track manuscripts will be limited to 4 (IEEE Proceedings style) pages. Unformatted papers and papers beyond the page limit may not be reviewed. Electronic submission of manuscripts (in PDF or Word format) is required. Detailed instructions for electronic paper preparation and submission, panel proposals, tutorial proposals, workshop proposals, and review process can be found at http://conferences.computer.org/icws/2015/.
At least one author of each accepted paper is required to register to the conference and present the paper. One Best Paper award and one Best Student Paper award will be granted at ICWS 2015. The first author of the best student paper must be a full-time student.
Manuscripts submitted to the Research Track focusing on application or solution descriptions may be recommended to the Application Track or other tracks for further consideration if the session slots are available.

Review Policy ------------- IEEE Policy and professional ethics require that referees treat the contents of papers under review as privileged information not to be disclosed to others before publication. It is expected that no one with access to a paper under review will make any inappropriate use of the special knowledge, which that access provides. Contents of abstracts submitted to conference program committees should be regarded as privileged as well, and handled in the same manner. The Conference Publications Chair shall ensure that referees adhere to this practice.
Organizers of IEEE conferences are expected to provide an appropriate forum for the oral presentation and discussion of all accepted papers. An author, in offering a paper for presentation at an IEEE conference, or accepting an invitation to present a paper, is expected to be present at the meeting to deliver the paper. In the event that circumstances unknown at the time of submission of a paper preclude its presentation by an author, the program chair should be informed on time, and appropriate substitute arrangements should be made. In some cases it may help reduce no-shows for the Conference to require advance registration together with the submission of the final manuscript.
