The informatics department at Örebro University Business School has a long tradition of research and training within the information systems development field. The department is currently in an expansive phase, facing many challenges. Today, training is offered in the form of the Bachelor’s Programme of Systems Analysis, the Master’s Programme in Information Systems, as well as on the doctoral programme in informatics. A Master’s programme in Rwanda is currently being set up in collaboration with Sida (Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency) and University of Rwanda, with the first intake of students planned for the autumn 2015. Informatics research is undertaken within the research environment Centre for Empirical Research on Information Systems (CERIS), focusing on six different fields of application: systems development methods, eGovernment, information security, ICT4D (ICT for Development), IT for Learning, and eHealth.

The aim of the Bachelor’s Programme of Systems Analysis is to train IT consultants able to integrate business and software development. Students are trained in a range of business and systems development methods and software development environments, providing them with a broad knowledge base within systems development. Students are also offered the opportunity to do a placement. The aim of the Master’s programme is to develop students’ skills in managing IT related business change projects in private as well as public organisations. Teaching on the programmes takes the form of lectures, workshops, student projects and supervision.

The informatics department is looking to recruit:
a) a senior lecturer/lecturer with expertise in software development
b) a senior lecturer with expertise in systems development methods and software development
c) a senior lecturer with expertise in systems development and the use of IT in the public sector.
