1. Next session 4 February 2015
"Digital Badges to curate, credential and carry forward digital learning evidence"
Presenters: David Gibson (Curtin University) and Kate Coleman (Deakin University).

This online session will explore: digital badging, and how it can warrant learning and motivate higher education students; implementing a whole of program approach in a degree program or for extra-curricular activity; implementing a whole of institution approach to badging including policy, change leadership, and including professional bodies.

Audience interaction is encouraged to make it a lively session.

2. Two senior teaching and learning leadership roles at University of Queensland, Australia (in the newly formed Institute for Teaching and Learning Innovation).

Post 1: Deputy Director and Professor of Higher Education: FT Continuing, Academic Level E $AUD165K P.A. + Super.

This is a senior, staff-facing role with both leadership and staff development responsibilities in teaching, assessment, curriculum design and teaching awards and grants. This position leads ITaLI's work to enhance the quality of educational practice and the educational experience at all levels across the University.  The loosely-termed Teaching Excellence group currently comprises a team of academic and professional staff that is responsible for providing advice and support to individual academics, teaching teams, Schools and Faculties in teaching, assessment practice, curriculum design, technology-enabled educational innovation and teaching awards, grants and fellowships.
The successful candidate will have a research-based doctoral degree with demonstrated knowledge of the relevant policies and objectives that will shape the future of higher education in Australia, plus demonstrated capacity to lead significant organisational change, including experience in leading and implementing University-wide organisational change to improve student learning outcomes.

Post 2: Deputy Director and Professor of Learning Futures: FT Continuing, Academic Level E $AUD165K P.A. + Super.

This is a senior, staff-facing role with responsibility to guide the University’s strategic objectives in the area of educational technology innovation, eLearning, and the impact of new technologies on pedagogy. This position leads ITaLI’s UQx and the Learning Analytics and Evaluations units to enhance the quality of educational practice and the educational experience across the University.
The successful candidate will have a PhD and a specialisation in research and development in education technology innovation, with extensive knowledge and experience in this field or a related area at a senior level, plus demonstrated capacity to lead significant organisational change, including experience in leading and implementing University-wide organisational change with a focus on digital learning and the systematic application of learning analytics.
