Information Technology and People has climbed in the UK Association of Business Schools (ABS) journal ranking lists from a "2" to a "3". "3" rated journals "publish original and well executed research papers and are highly regarded. These journals typically have good submission rates and are very selective in what they publish. Papers are heavily refereed. Highly regarded journals generally have good to excellent journal metrics relative to others in their field".

For academics in the UK (and those who are influenced by the UK lists), this puts ITP in the same category as some other AIS basket of 8 journals such as EJIS, JIT and ISJ.
