CALL FOR PAPERS: First International iStar Teaching Workshop (iStarT’15),
Co-located with the 27th International Conference on Advanced Information Systems Engineering (CAiSE'15)

The i* Framework, facilitating goal-oriented information systems modeling, has received much attention
as part of the CAiSE conference series. This year we propose a more focused workshop, covering topics
related to i* and goal-oriented pedagogy. As the i* and related frameworks have been in existence for
more than 20 years, researchers around the world have accumulated experience in teaching i* and related
languages (e.g., GRL and Tropos), at both the undergraduate and graduate level, to students with a wide
variety of backgrounds (e.g., computer science, information management, business analysts). We aim to
provide an opportunity to share and discuss such experiences. Relevant topics include organization of
teaching materials, goal-oriented learning objectives, goal model complexity in course material,
differentiation for different audiences, prerequisites, and learning curve. The objective of the workshop
is to share knowledge, stimulate discussion, foster improved i* teaching practices, and increase inclusion
of goal modeling in educational content.

Dates: 8-12 June 2015
Location: Stockholm, Sweden
Website: https://sites.google.com/site/istarteaching15/

FORMAT
The objective of the discussion-oriented workshop is to share knowledge, stimulate discussion and foster
new educational practices and collaboration among different groups.

To support these goals, we will schedule as much time for discussion as for presentations - the actual
time will depend on the final number of accepted papers. If the schedule allows, we plan to include
further occasions for discussion in the program, in addition to a wrap-up session.

PAPER SUBMISSIONS
Contributions should be max 6 pages in LNCS format, describing experiences and insight in teaching
activities related to the i* framework.
We welcome four types of papers: experience reports, position papers, and pedagogical research papers.
All submissions should be uploaded to easychair: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=istart15
All submissions will be peer-reviewed and accepted work will be published in the CEUR Workshop Proceedings
Series.
