"Cross-Cultural IS Research: Perspectives from Eastern and Western
Traditions"

Special Issue of the European Journal of Information Systems (2015)

Guest Editors: Merrill Warkentin, Brigitte Charles-Pauvers, and Patrick Y.K.
Chau

Information systems (IS) and IS research have been transformed by the
globalization of organizations, of IS processes, and of perspectives on IS
phenomena. IS scholars have applied a variety of theoretical lenses and
methods with which to evaluate the role of national culture on the design,
development, and use of IS by individuals, groups, and organizations. This
special issue of EJIS includes a range of novel and extendable studies that
present some innovative yet critical thinking on cross-cultural IS research,
especially as it relates to contrasting or converging Eastern and Western
experiences and viewpoints.
