We are pleased to announce the inaugural WHITE 2015 Doctoral Consortium as
a pre-conference event for the *6th Annual **Workshop on Health IT and
Economics (WHITE)**.* The consortium will be held on October 8th, 2015,
from 12 pm to 6 pm, with reception at night, in Washington DC. The
consortium will provide an opportunity for doctoral students to receive
feedback on their research, network and discuss career issues. All
interested PhD students and recent post-docs working on research in the
areas of health information systems, health economics, clinical fields and
health policy are invited to apply, as we are seeking multi-disciplinary
conversations.



Confirmed faculty advisers include:

-       Ritu Agarwal, Robert H. Smith School of Business

-       Gordon Gao, Robert H. Smith School of Business

-       Jeff McCullough, University of Minnesota

Acceptance to the consortium will be based on a review of the application
materials. Preference for attendance will be given to students who will
have defended their dissertation proposals but not their dissertations by
the date of the consortium, and to those whose institutions or fields would
not otherwise be represented.  There is no cost to attend, and participants
will receive a $100 discount on the main conference registration. A limited
amount of additional travel support may be offered.

The application packet should include:

1) A 1-page informational document with: Name of applicant; Institutional
affiliation; Dissertation title (if applicable); Expected completion date;
Educational background; Professional background / prior work experience;
Future career aspirations.

2) A summary of the applicant’s research (maximum of 2 pages)

3) A brief letter from the dissertation chair/advisor supporting the
student’s participation in the Doctoral Consortium.



The due date for applications and letters of recommendation is *July 31,
2015*. Decisions will be announced on Aug 21, 2015. Please email all
