Joint Call for Workshop Paper and Poster Presentation

The International Conference on Software and Systems Process (ICSSP) 2015 will take place in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia.
Conference date: August 24-26, 2015
Conference website: http://www.icsp-conferences.org/icssp2015/index.html

The International Conference on Software and Systems Process (ICSSP) 2015 is proud to host three exciting workshops this year. Furthermore, the ICSSP provides the opportunity to present and discuss early research ideas and ongoing work in form of posters.

The call for workshop papers open for the workshops ProSaaMD and OISE.
The call for posters is open.

*** 1st International Workshop on Impact of Agile Practices (ImpAct)
Date: Monday, 24 August 2015
Web: http://impact.iese.fraunhofer.de/
Note: No paper-based workshop, if you plan to contribute, contact the organizers directly

Description:
In Agile Software Development, there exist a large number of Agile Practices. Only for a small portion of them, e.g. pair programming, there is (objective) evidence available about their impact on different aspects of software development, e.g. development process, people, work products, and quality. Since evidence is needed for a founded and justifiable decision of which Agile Practices to use in response to specific development contexts, the primary purpose of this workshop is to discuss our current state of evidence on the impact of Agile Practices and to initiate the work on creating a knowledge base.

The workshop format will focus on interactive discussions and the elaboration of initial ideas of how to collect evidence on the impact of Agile Practices. Based on the outputs of the workshop, the plan is to publish results as a position paper in the SigSoft Notes or any other suitable medium (to be discussed in the group and depending on the type of results).

*** 1st International Workshop on Processes for Software-as-a-Medical Device (ProSaaMD)
Date: Monday, 24 August 2015
Web: https://prosaamd.wordpress.com/

- Workshop Papers Due: May 26, 2015
- Workshop Papers Notification: June 21, 2015
- Camera-ready Deadline (FIRM): June 30, 2015

Description:
Modern service systems consist of a complex processes which combine legacy, bespoke, COTS, open source, licensed, and user-developed systems to cater for rapidly changing business needs. In recent years, the healthcare industry have acknowledged the benefits of efficient service systems enjoyed within the business world and identify significant opportunity in developing new system and software processes to enhance healthcare delivery through higher quality and safer practices. This has led to the rise in software development practices in medical device and healthcare management processes. In order to overcome or avoid the potential of negative effects from software practice in the medical technology (MedTech) and healthcare sector, we must re-examine software development and compliance processes. The latest trends of developing and maintaining emerging and evolving software systems has also led to new opportunities and challenges regarding the development processes, quality management, decision support, process analytics, management and innovation of medical device software.

The Processes for Software-as-a-Medical Device (ProSaaMD) workshop is seeking papers which address state-of-the-art research in best-practice which support healthcare software innovation, process improvement and quality management in medical devices, healthcare operations and well-being.

*** 1st International Workshop on Open Innovation in Software Engineering (OISE)
Date: Monday, 24 August 2015
Web: http://www.oise2015.com/

- Workshop Papers Due: May 24, 2015
- Workshop Papers Notification: June 21, 2015
- Camera-ready Deadline (FIRM): June 29, 2015

Description:
Open innovation leverages data, knowledge and human resources from beyond organizational boundaries and enables new paths to the market for products by combining internal and external ideas into architectures and systems which their requirements are defined by business models. Open innovation inspired business models to use both sources of ideas in order to provide value and to define internal mechanisms for claiming some proportion of that value. The tremendous success of Open Source Software in the last twenty years have ignited and encouraged several new movements for collective innovation. Crowdsourcing, Global Software Development and outsourcing are among the types of open innovation. Crowdsourcing is taking advantage of web technologies and social media with the ability to actively involve users and control the community to achieve organizational tasks and often uses outsourcing and sophisticated web technologies.

The OISE 2015 workshop aims at bridging the gap between Open Innovation in business domain and its applicability in software engineering domain by establishing a community of researchers.

*** Call for Posters
Date: Monday to Wednesday, August 24 - 26, 2015
Web: http://www.icsp-conferences.org/icssp2015/downloadFiles/ICSSP2015-CallPosters-V01A4.pdf

- Poster Submission: May 22, 2015
- Poster Notification: June 15, 2015
- Camera-ready Deadline: June 22, 2015

Description:
Modern systems consist of a complex mix of products and services – legacy, bespoke, COTS, open source, licensed, and user - developed - that must be designed to meet rapidly changing business needs. Business processes must be agile to capture and maintain customers with rapidly evolving needs, tastes, and desires.

The ICSSP conferences is seeking to provide a highly interactive forum for researchers and practitioner interested in challenges, research, and best practices concerning development and analysis of software engineering processes, integration of technical, management, and financial processes, or reconciliation of business, systems engineering and software engineering process research.

To foster discussions on early research ideas and to provide a forum for initiating collaborations, the ICSSP provides an opportunity to present posters from Monday to Wednesday. Posters will be presented at an open, freely accessible space at the conference location.
