Dear All

This is a kind reminder that the deadline is approaching for submitting your works to the Emerging Information Technologies track (http://dsi-annualmeeting.org/emerging-information-technologies/) at the 2015 Annual Meeting of the Decision Sciences Institute. Below is a description of the track:
Emerging Information Technologies - Across economic and social domains, there is a widespread increase in the emergence of new information technologies. These emerging information technologies are associated with advances in several domains, such as artificial intelligence, big data, cloud computing, machine vision, and robotics. Widespread diffusion of emerging information technologies is changing the way individuals perform their roles as thought leaders, stakeholders, strategists, citizens, or employees and customers of organizations. This is resulting in significant changes in the ways organizations, communities, and nations conduct transactions, make decisions, structure roles, interact with customers, and build organizational capabilities. However, there is little understanding about the effects of emerging information technologies. Therefore, this track invites full papers, abstracts, and panel presentations that define or conceptualize emerging information technologies and study their influence on individuals, organizations, societies, and economies.
Topics relevant to this track include, but are not limited to:
1. Big data and its role in organizations
2. Use of business analytics for organizational decision-making
3. Effects of cloud computing on organizations and IT departments
4. Use of mobile computing for payments, retail, and other organizational applications
5. Emerging information technologies in civic and non-profit organizations
6. Use of emerging information technologies for organizational and national security
7. Visual computing and its applications
8. Social media and its role in organizations and society
9. Rise of electronic gaming and its applications
10. Digital payments and electronic currency
11. Emerging information technologies in healthcare
12. Emerging information technologies for supply chain, operations management, and logistics
13. Patents and emerging information technologies
14. Use of artificial intelligence within organizations

The submission deadline for Full Papers is May 1, 2015 and Abstracts and Research Panel Proposals is May 15, 2015.

The meeting will be held between November 21-24, 2015, at the Seattle Sheraton Hotel - Seattle, Washington. You may access more details about the meeting at http://dsi-annualmeeting.org/.

Please let me know if you would have any questions about the track.

Best Regards

Pankaj (as, Track Chair, Emerging Information Technologies Track, DSI 2015)
