Middle Georgia State, one of the institutions in the University System of Georgia, invites applications for two (2) tenure track assistant professor positions in Information Technology.
Candidates must have a doctorate in IT or related disciplines with at least 18+ hours of graduate course work in the field of IT as well as a reasonable record of teaching and scholarship that warrants appointment at the rank of assistant professor. The primary teaching responsibility will be in the areas of Information Assurance/Cybersecurity and/or health Informatics both in the undergraduate and graduate programs. Online teaching experience is required. In addition to teaching, job requirements include service to the institution; and an active research and scholarly activities leading to publication in peer-reviewed journals.
The Georgia state Board of Regents has approved a change in name, mission and course offerings at Middle Georgia State, which will become Middle Georgia State University effective July 1. With this level change, Middle Georgia State will begin offering a fully-online Masters in Information Technology in Fall 2015 with concentrations in Information Security & Digital Forensics and Health Informatics.
