New Zealand Visiting Fellowship for 2016, University of Canterbury
(Expressions of interest due May 30)

The Information Systems group at the University of Canterbury is seeking one or more visitors in the 2016 academic year for a stay of at least 6 weeks, but preferably a full semester.  In 2016, the provisional dates for Semester I are 22 Feb - 03 June and for Semester II, 11 July to 14 October (Semester length visits will include a 2 - 3 week break between terms).  Visits that cover the Summer School in November-December or January-February, or the Master of Business Information Systems Program (which has four 10-week semesters) may also be possible.

** Note: A second Erskine fellowship is also available over the Summer School in November-December 2015 or January-February 2016.
Preference will be given to persons who can offer a summer course in Business Intelligence/Analytics or Business Process Modelling  **

The successful applicant would be invited as an Erskine Fellow to the School of Business and Law.  Please note that all Erskine Programme Fellowships are primarily teaching Fellowships, and will include undergraduate teaching where possible. The visitor will be expected to make a contribution to teaching and research in the IS group.  This may take various forms, for example, seminar presentations, research workshops, graduate seminars, teaching in graduate/undergraduate courses, and research collaboration with staff.  There may also be an opportunity for the successful Erskine fellow to offer a short course, graduate seminar or workshop tailored to one's interests and expertise.

To be eligible for an Erskine Fellowship, interested persons must hold the position of full professor or associate professor (or equivalent), and have a well-established research record as evidenced by papers in top journals.

Applicants with a range of teaching and research interests are encouraged to apply.  Persons with research interests in any of the following areas are especially encouraged to apply: Knowledge Management, eCommerce, Information Technology Use and Impacts, IS Service Quality/ Satisfaction, Social Media, Healthcare IT, eLearning/Mobile Technologies in Education, IT Professionals, and Virtual Teams.

The Department of Accounting and Information Systems (ACIS) currently has 17 academic staff, including 4 staff in the IS group. Over the past few years we have experienced growth in the number of students and currently we have over 1,100 undergraduate students in ACIS, and a relatively small number of postgraduate students. The University is situated in Christchurch, which is the largest city in the South Island of New Zealand.   It is a city with excellent facilities and a relaxed lifestyle.   Christchurch is near the sea and the Southern Alps, where some of New Zealand's finest ski-fields are found.   The quality of life is high, and at a reasonable cost.

Christchurch has a growing economy, with considerable strength in the IT sector.
