Dear colleagues,

On May 5th I’ve posted a call for suggestions about bibliography suited to support a couple of lectures on “Interorganizational business processes” and “Business process outsourcing” at the Masters level. The lectures are part of a BPM course, but rest of the topics are already covered.

I’ve received 2 answers:

From Narcyz Roztocki
As a special case of business process outsourcing you may consider crowdsourcing.

My colleague from University of Sydney, Olivera Marjanovic and me, we wrote a literature review paper on this topic:

The Current Research Landscape of Crowdsourcing: Implications for Emerging Economies
Marjanovic, Olivera and Roztocki, Narcyz.
Proceedings of the Second International Conference on ICT Management for Global Competitiveness and Economic Growth in Emerging Economies (ICTM 2013), Wroclaw, Poland, September 2013.
Available at SSRN: http://ssrn.com/abstract=2329976

From Peter Trkman
(…) in general, I think this is the best "overview" book for
the topic: http://www.springer.com/gp/book/9783642331428 <http://www.springer.com/gp/book/9783642331428>

For interorganizational business processes, I would just use some of
the rich body of knowledge on supply chain management - which in many
cases talks about the management of interorganizational processes
(e.g. my, although now already a bit old paper, uses such a view
Trkman, P., Indihar Štemberger, M., Jaklič, J., & Groznik, A. (2007).
Process approach to supply chain integration. Supply Chain Management
- An International Journal, 12(2), 116-128)

For business process outsourcing perhaps the following may be of interest
Gerbl, M., McIvor, R., Loane, S., & Humphreys, P. (2015). A
multi-theory approach to understanding the business process
outsourcing decision. Journal of World Business, In press.

Thank you for the answers,

—Paulo
