[AISWorld] CFP- Social Media in Government HICSS- 2016 DEADLINE June 13th

CFP- Social Media in Government HICSS- 2016
Governments have also discovered the potential of social media platforms
for sharing governmental information and outreach. Social media unite
several communication channels and enhance opportunities for citizens to
provide feedback to government officers and political representatives.
Guidelines for the use of online social networks and other social media are
relatively new in governmental agencies and many implementation challenges
still persist. Given that the demand for social media-based government
services is growing, issues related to privacy, information leakage,
blurred boundaries between private and public spheres, and government
surveillance must all be urgently addressed.
This minitrack is open to papers that cover all aspects of social media,
particularly in the context of citizen participation and electronic
government.

Minitrack topics include, but are not limited to:
• Case studies of the use of online social media and networks by any
level of government
• Social media and citizen participation
• Apps and Social media: implementation and challenges
• Relationship between online social media use and offline political
action
• Website information link with social media tools
• Predicting election and other political events with social media
• Implementation challenges
• Maintaining privacy in online social media and other online networks
• Social media and networks for information sharing
• Social media and governance: troubles and challenges
• Social networks and ‘information overload’
• Mobile and location-sensing media and governance
• Guidelines and policies for social media use
• Legal concerns when providing and sharing content via social media
• Online identities of civil servants

> MINITRACK DESCRIPTION
> Applications for mobile devices (apps) have facilitated the success
> of smartphones and tablet PCs. By using apps, the multi-purpose
> hardware of modern devices can be utilized to the full extent. Due to
> the proliferation of mobile devices as a tool for consumers,
> businesses increasingly embrace the topic. However, actually
> improving business processes or even finding a mobile strategy is not
> straightforward. Neither is the usage of so called business apps. In
> many cases, development of business apps is prone to problems and
> companies face technology choices they have little information for.
>
> Developing business apps poses specific requirements due to their
> business-critical nature. Compared to apps in general, higher quality
> standards should be met, apps need to be more secure and robust, and
> requirements need to be carefully engineered (and then met),
> according to industry standards. Testing of apps has been found to be
> very cumbersome. Whether (and to what extent) methods of classical
> software engineering can be applied still is matter of discussion.
> Moreover, new challenges such as development for multiple platforms,
> device fragmentation, context-sensitivity, performance issues,
> mobility-depended security issues and energy conservation arise.
> Therefore, new threads of research are needed to tackle these issues
> and pave the way for better business producibility.
>
> The minitrack is devoted to (business) apps development and the
> technological background of mobile computing for corporate or other
> domain-specific non-consumer usage. Topics of interests include (but
> are not limited to)
> o App development within a domain context
> o Economic and/or social impact of mobile computing
> o Make-or-buy decisions in app development
> o Engineering of apps for business processes
> o Requirements engineering for apps
