We are pleased to announce that the first issue of AIS Transactions on Replication Research has been published. For more information visit us at: http://aisel.aisnet.org/trr/

The articles are:

Integrating Technology Addiction and Use: An Empirical Investigation of Facebook Users<http://elibrary.aisnet.org/Default.aspx?url=http://aisel.aisnet.org/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1004&context=trr>

by Alexander Serenko and Ofir Turel

This is a conceptual replication in the new context of social media of an original study of addiction in online auctions by the authors themselves (Turel, Serenko, and Giles, MISQ, 2011). Most of the original results were found in the new context, but there were some differences, suggesting that social media is more likely to trigger addiction than online auctions.

Empirical Examination of Information Privacy Concerns Instrument in the Social Media Context<http://elibrary.aisnet.org/Default.aspx?url=http://aisel.aisnet.org/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1005&context=trr>

by Babajide Osatuyi

This is a conceptual replication in the new context of social media of an original study of concern for information privacy by Stewart and Segars (ISR, 2002). This study suggests that a three-factor second order model (error, collection, information access) better fits the social media context than the four-factor model from the original study (error, collection, unauthorized access, secondary use).

Enjoy,

Alan Dennis & Joe Valacich
