The Department of Information Systems invites nominations and applications
for the position of *Regular, Limited-Term Instructor*.



Georgia Southern University, classified as a doctoral/research institution
by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, is a member of
the University System of Georgia. As the largest and most comprehensive
research institution in southeast Georgia, the University is a residential

Housed within the College of Business Administration, the Department of
Information Systems offers an undergraduate, on-campus Bachelor’s in
Business Administration degree program that prepares students to work in a
corporate computing career.  The department is a member of the SAP
University Alliances and has a strong reputation for being the lead
institution in ERP/SAP curriculum in the Southeastern United States.  Faculty
members also participate in the delivery of the department’s Online
Graduate Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Certificate program with an
emphasis in SAP, as well as courses that support the Master of Business
Administration (MBA), WebMBA, Master of Accounting (MAcc), WebMAcc, and
Master of Science in Applied Engineering (MSAE) programs.



*Position Description*: Reporting to the Information System’s Department
Chair, the Regular, *Limited-Term Instructor* is required to have a
master’s degree and relevant industry work experience.  The expectation of
this position is primarily teaching, with some service responsibility.  The
teaching load is 4 classes each semester (Fall and Spring) beginning Fall
2015.  All limited-term positions are non-tenure track, academic (10 month)
year appointments. Appointments are for one year only, although there is
the possibility of reappointment based upon satisfactory performance,
should funding permit. (All reappointments are made on a one year basis.)
The salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and
experience.



*Required Qualifications:*

   -

   Master’s (e.g., MSIS or MBA) degree with at least 18 graduate semester
   hours in Information Systems or Information Technology


   -

   Three years of relevant industry  or consulting work experience in one
   or more of the following areas:


   -

   SAP enterprise systems software
   -

   Programming (Java, and/or SAP ABAP)
   -

   Business Analytics/Intelligence
   -

   Database Management


   -

   Excellent verbal or written communication skills
   -

   Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office applications
   -

   Demonstrated ability to work effectively with colleagues
   -

   Must be authorized to work in the United States for the duration of
   employment without assistance from the institution



*Preferred Qualifications:*

   -

   Professional Industry certification relevant to at least one or more
   areas within the IS degree program
   -

   One year of university level teaching or corporate training experience
   in one of the following areas:


   -

   SAP enterprise systems software
   -

   Programming (Java and/or SAP ABAP)
   -

   Business Analytics/Intelligence
   -

   Database Management


   -

   Ability to teach via web-based instruction
   -

   Ability to teach technically-focused courses in the Information Systems
   program, as well as MS Office applications
   -

   Demonstrated interest in ongoing professional development within the
   discipline
   -

   Evidence of above-average teaching ability



Screening of applications begins July 8, 2015, and continues until the
position is filled. The preferred position starting date is August 1, 2015.
