*THE UNIVERSITY:*  California State University, East Bay is known for
award-winning programs, expert instruction, a diverse student body, and a
choice of more than 100 career-focused fields of study.  The ten major
buildings of the Hayward Hills campus, on 342 acres, contain over 150
classrooms and teaching laboratories, over 177 specialized instructional
rooms, numerous computer labs and a library, which contains a collection of
over one million items. The University also has campuses in Contra Costa
County, Online, and in Oakland, California.  With an enrollment of
approximately 13,000 students and 600 faculty, CSUEB is organized into four
colleges: Letters, Arts, and Social Sciences; Business and Economics;

*THE COLLEGE*: CSUEB’s College of Business and Economics offers 6 degree
programs (BS in Business Administration, MBA, BA and MA in Economics, MS in
Accountancy, and MSBA in Business Analytics) spanning 4 departments:
Accounting and Finance, Economics, Management, Marketing and
Entrepreneurship. The College’s distinguished faculty represent a
multinational, multicultural diverse group providing a wealth of wide-range
of global experiences and expertise in various fields. The College is AACSB
accredited since 1973 and has been nationally ranked by the *Princeton
Review* (2014).



*THE DEPARTMENT: *The Department of Management is staffed by more than 20
full-time, tenure-track faculty organized into the following interest
groups: Strategy & International Business, Human Resources Management,
Information Technology Management (ITM), and Operations & Supply Chain
Management. The position described here is in the ITM Group. The ITM Group
within the Department of Management benefits from our proximity to a large
number of vibrant high-tech companies that define the Bay Area as a tier
one platform for information technology management.



*DUTIES OF THE POSITION: *We seek an individual who has strong research and
teaching interests in the subject areas that are relevant to Information
Technology Management, including research and teaching in one or more of
the following areas: information systems analysis and design, database
design and management, computer networking and information security, data
warehousing, data and text mining, big data and social media analytics.



The successful applicant is expected to be an excellent teacher, a
productive researcher, and a helpful colleague. Please note that teaching
assignments at California State University, East Bay can include courses at
the Hayward, Concord and Online campuses as well as in off-campus programs
in Oakland and San Ramon. Research responsibilities include engaging in
related research and scholarly activities. In addition to teaching and
research, all faculty assist the department with administrative and/or
committee work as well as campus-wide committee responsibilities.



*RANK AND SALARY: *Full time, tenure-track position at the rank of
Assistant or Associate Professor. Salary is dependent upon educational
preparation and experience. Availability of position is subject to
budgetary authorization.



*DATE OF APPOINTMENT: *Fall Quarter, 2016.



*QUALIFICATIONS:* Required: (1) an earned doctorate in Information
Technology, Information Systems or a closely related field from an AACSB
accredited institution, with degree in-hand no later than the effective
date of the appointment; (2) an ability to meet the criteria to be
recognized as ‘Scholarly Academics’ (SA) or ‘Practice Academics’ (PA) in
accordance with the CSU East Bay, College of Business and Economics SA and
PA standards; (3) a demonstrated record or capability of teaching
excellence in the designated areas; (4) a demonstrated record of scholarly
activities; and (5) strong communication skills. Desirable: Business
Experience.
