Colorado State University, a land grant, Carnegie Doctoral/Research Extensive University of more than 27,000 students, invites nominations and applications for one or more full-time, tenure-track, nine-month positions at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor of Computer Information Systems. 

The anticipated start date is no later than August 2016. Faculty from our department will be available at AMCIS in Puerto Rico for informal discussions about the position.

Qualifications 

Required - Applicant must have (or expect to receive by the start of employment) a doctoral degree in Information Systems or a related field; at least one semester of teaching experience in a course related to Information Systems; demonstrable potential to publish in premier or high-quality scholarly journals.

Preferred - Preference will be given to candidates with: a) a record of high-quality research commensurate with experience; b) evidence of continuing focus on high-quality research; c) evidence of teaching effectiveness; d) teaching and/or research experience in the areas of enterprise systems, business intelligence, data analytics, and/or systems development; and e) interest in teaching in a CIS distance Master's degree program.   Reflecting departmental and institutional values, candidates are expected to have the ability to advance the Department's commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Salary will be competitive, based upon qualifications.

Department and University Community
The Department of Computer Information Systems is one of five departments in the College of Business. The department, founded in 1964, was one of the first CIS departments in the country. The department currently has 12 full-time faculty member,s and enrollment in both our undergraduate and master's programs is increasing. The College of Business offers an undergraduate program and several graduate programs, including a graduate program in global sustainable enterprise. Our students are actively engaged in the College and the community and consistently perform well in national and international competitions. The College also has a dedicated facility for behavioral research, which includes a focus group room, central research studio, control room, and five small team rooms.

The College of Business at Colorado State University was among the first to offer an AACSB accredited distance MBA degree. That program streams lectures of an on-campus cohort to as many as 500 off-campus students in 20 different time zones. The CIS department recently started delivery of our MS degree using this same model.  We currently have several hundred students enrolled in the MS-CIS program. In this program, faculty work closely with an experienced team of adjunct instructors to deliver rigorous, high-touch education.
