The Department of Business Informatics at the Northern Kentucky University
invites applications for an Assistant Professor, tenure-track faculty
position beginning August, 2016. As part of the College of Informatics
which unites the departments of Business Informatics, Computer Science, and
Communication, we embrace the modern concept of information in all its
aspects. The department also partners with the NKU College of Business to
offer innovative interdisciplinary AACSB accredited curriculum and
programs. The department offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in
Business Informatics, an undergraduate Library Informatics degree, and a
graduate degree and minor in Health Informatics.


Applicants for this position should hold a Ph.D. in Management Information
Systems or related field; although ABDs will be considered (official
transcripts will be required prior to employment).  The ideal candidate
will have a background in and be ability to teach cyber security or
information assurance related courses.  Other teaching responsibilities may
include classes in the Business Informatics programs’ core, such as
management information systems, project management, and business process
analysis. The ability to teach quantitative or technical classes in areas
such as business analytics or software development, and professional
industry relevant information systems work experience is also desirable.
The successful applicant will be expected to demonstrate excellence in
teaching, student projects coordination, and industry engagement in support
of the university’s mission.
