Dear Colleagues,

We would like to announce that WITS - 2015 will be held at the Naveen Jindal School of Management on the campus of the University of Texas at Dallas on December 12-13, 2015. This year, the workshop will be held prior to the ICIS conference. This is a particularly exciting year for us, as this will the 25th anniversary for the Workshop.

The theme of WITS 2015 is: Cloud Computing Management. With cloud computing rapidly gaining popularity, a whole host of management issues arise both for the vendor and client. Both sides have to address, technical, security and privacy issues. Both sides also have to address the costs and benefits of the relationships as well as the contracting aspects of the relationship. Risk management and compliance issues must also be well defined in the contract between cloud computing provider and customer. Further, the increasing use of mobile devices for accessing resources in the cloud brings a new set of challenges. Hence, we solicit papers that will focus on technical, privacy, security, risk management as well as contracting issues in the new era of cloud computing. Papers that address issues from the vendor side relating to optimal allocation or determination of resources, managing the cloud, security breaches from client side affecting them as well as other aspects of managing the environment are also solicited.

In addition to papers directly related to the theme, the workshop is inclusive and seeks research papers from a broad range of topics. Note that the Workshop is focused on addressing complex business problems or societal issues using current and emerging information technologies. We also encourage research that can change the way information technology functions (e.g., by designing, modifying, or constructing systems) so that they can better solve real-world problems. All problem-solving paradigms - including empirical, analytical, behavioral, experimental, and computational - are invited. Integrative approaches, whether methodological or functional, are welcome. WITS research is often prescriptive (toward providing a solution to a problem), rather than descriptive (explaining a phenomenon), unless the explanation clearly helps in developing a solution. We particularly invite work that is early, but has the potential to make a significant impact - innovation and novelty are at least as important as completeness and rigor. More details and important dates are available at: http://wits2015.binghamton.edu/. Please mark these dates on your calendar. We are looking forward to seeing you in Dallas this December.

Best regards,
WITS 2015 Co-chairs
Varghese Jacob (UT Dallas) and Subodha Kumar (Texas A&M University)
