The need and importance of replication has never been clearer. Science just published an article reporting the efforts of over 250 researchers as part of the Reproducibility Project to replicate 100 published psychology experiments from top-ranked psychology journals. The results were replicated in less than half of the studies. Replication validates and helps refines our theories, identifies boundary conditions, and is an essential part of the scientific method.

As such, we are pleased to announce that the September issue of AIS Transactions on Replication Research has been published. For more information visit us at: http://aisel.aisnet.org/trr/

The articles are:

Impact of ERP Implementation on Business Process Outcomes: A Replication of a United States Study in a Sub-Saharan African Nation (http://aisel.aisnet.org/trr/vol1/iss1/4/)
By David Asamoah, Francis K. Andoh-Baidoo, and Benjamin Agyei-Owusu

This is a conceptual replication I the new context of a Sub-Saharan African nation (Ghana) of an original study investigating how US ERP implementations impact various business process outcomes by Karimi, Somers, & Bhattacherjee (JMIS, 2007). This study only found support for one of the four hypotheses from the original study suggesting that contextual factors such as culture, industry, and region may act as boundary conditions for the original theory.

Consumer Acceptance of Personal Cloud: Integrating Trust and Risk with the Technology Acceptance Model (http://aisel.aisnet.org/trr/vol1/iss1/5/)
By Murad A. Moqbel and Valerie L. Bartelt

This is a conceptual replication of Pavlou (IJEC, 2003) that examined the relationship among trust, risk, usefulness, and ease of use, but in the new setting of personal cloud computing. The results generally confirm those in the original study, but indicate that perceived ease of use may not strongly predict usage intention in this context.

Enjoy,
