Post-ICIS Research Workshop: SIG Social Inclusion December 16, 2015
--WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION & CALL FOR ABSTRACTS--
SIG Social Inclusion will hold a post-ICIS research workshop on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 from 1PM to 8 PM and includes a dinner. The purpose of the workshop is to help develop the community of people who are currently conducting or who want to conduct research on social inclusion. Social inclusion research investigates issues related to the social acceptance and support of people with a diversity of backgrounds including gender, age, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, socio-economic status, and disability. The workshop will help scholars develop skills related to theory development, literature review, and methodological approaches through a combination of presentations and developmental sessions facilitated by established social inclusion scholars. The workshop will also discuss journal and conference publication outlets including the AMCIS Social Inclusion Minitracks and a special issue of Information Systems Journal.
Participants in the workshop are encouraged to submit an extended abstract (600-2000 words) detailing in-progress or future research related to social inclusion for roundtable discussion. Email your abstract in Microsoft Word or PDF format to Jaime.Windeler at uc.edu beginning August 14, 2015. Abstracts will be reviewed by the workshop organizing committee for inclusion in the workshop proceedings that will be distributed at the workshop. Notification of abstract acceptance will be on a rolling basis. To be included in the proceedings abstracts must be submitted by October 30, 2015. It is not necessary to submit an abstract in order to attend the workshop.
