POSITION: Frem F. Boustany, Sr./BORSF Eminent Scholar Endowed Chair in
Business Administration - Data Analytics

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Chair is expected to pursue research and scholarship
commensurate with the position and provide leadership in addressing the
electronic commerce and management information needs of regional
businesses/organizations, particularly social/small and medium-sized
enterprises (SME's) and new web-based businesses. The Chair will
collaborate with the faculty of the Moody College of Business and regional
businesses/organizations. The Chair will lead a comprehensive effort to
advance research, teaching and curriculum development related to
electronic commerce and/or analytics of management information, provide
exceptional teaching, contribute a continuing record of scholarly
endeavors and recruit high quality students. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates for this chair should be at the Associate/Full
Professor level. The applicant must (1) possess an earned doctorate in a
related business field; (2) have the ability to coordinate research
efforts of the College in one or more areas related to electronic
commerce, such as data/web/customer analytics, management information
technology, social media, etc.; (3) possess strong research skills; (4)
have the ability and motivation to continue an already established program
of research and (5) demonstrate innovative teaching skills and
course/curriculum development in the field. 

 

ADMINISTRATIVE: The University of Louisiana at Lafayette is a public
research university with High Research Activity with accreditation from
the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.
With an enrollment of over 18,000 students and 575 full-time faculty
members, UL Lafayette is the largest of nine universities in the
University of Louisiana System. The University offers degree programs in
54 undergraduate disciplines, 20 post bachelor certificates, four graduate
certificates, the master's degree in 27 disciplines, and the doctorate in

The B. I. Moody III College of Business Administration consists of four
academic units in the disciplines of Accounting, Economics and Finance,
Management, and Marketing and Hospitality Management. The College has an
enrollment of about 2,100 students with approximately 60 full-time faculty
and 20 part-time faculty. In addition, there is an average MBA enrollment
of 200 students. The College and the Department of Accounting are
accredited by the AACSB International. 

 

SALARY: Competitive and commensurate with qualifications, experience, and
proven ability. The holder of this position is an employee of the State of
Louisiana and as such enjoys a generous benefits package. The Chair also
includes discretionary funds for research and professional development. 

 

STARTING DATE: Fall 2016
