Associate Professorships in information systems, data analytics, and cryptographic economic systems


The IT University of Copenhagen invites applications for one or more positions as associate professor in information management, especially in information systems and data analytics, starting summer 2016 or soon thereafter.

The new associate professors are expected to teach and conduct research in one or more of the following areas:

*         Complex system and IT management challenges in networked, digitized economies. Preference is given to applicants with a focus on business processes, enterprise architecture, IT-driven business innovation, and/or entrepreneurship.

*         Cryptographic economic systems, decentralized autonomous organizations, sharing economy, the Internet of things or similar.  Preference given to blockchain-based prototyping and design techniques.

*         Business intelligence, social media analytics, or similar applications.  Preference given to quantitative or multi-method research applications, development of data mining methods, machine learning, and data visualization techniques.

The ideal applicant takes a combined theoretical and practical, and possibly design-science and quantitative, approach. Experience with interdisciplinary work and collaborative research experience with enterprises is appreciated.

The IT University also carries out teaching and research in a range of other areas, including digital culture, digital media and communication, computer games, interaction design, pervasive interaction technology, technologies in practice, software engineering, theoretical computer science, and information systems management.



Job description

The associate professors are expected to demonstrate competencies in:

*         Developing and conducting excellent teaching that is well received by students

*         Publication of research at a high international level in peer reviewed venues

*         Constructive contributions to the goals of the institutions in which the applicant has worked, for example through participation in working committees, faculty governance, etc.

In addition, the candidates will be expected to:

*         Attract external research funding

*         Prepared to supervise PhD student

Applicants must have the ability to read and speak a Scandinavian language or the willingness to learn Danish.

The IT University of Copenhagen (ITU) is a teaching and research-based tertiary institution concerned with information technology (IT) and the opportunities it offers. The IT University has more than 70 full-time Faculty members. Research and teaching in information technology span all academic activities which involve computers including computer science, information and media sciences, humanities and social sciences, business impact and the commercialisation of IT.

Salary

Appointment and salary will be in accordance with the Ministry of Finance's agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC).
