The Digital Forensics program of the Information Technology Management
department in the School of Business at the University at Albany, SUNY
invites applications for 2 positions beginning Fall 2016. We will be
interviewing at ICIS 2015. We invite candidates from multiple areas and
disciplines: Digital Forensics, Information Systems, Computer Science,
Forensic Accounting, Homeland Security, Criminal Justice (cyber crime),
and Political Science (especially cyber warfare).

The Digital Forensics B.S. is the fastest-growing major at the University
at Albany. After only one year, over 200 students are enrolled in major
classes. Due to the high demand for the major, we need faculty that can
teach and research in the following areas: digital forensics, cyber crime
investigations, forensic accounting, computer security, information
security, incident response, data mining, and databases. We have a strong
and cohesive group of faculty working together on projects, grants, and
instruction development. The position is in the School of Business,
however, faculty will be working closely with other departments on campus,
including, Computer Science, Political Science, and the new College of
Emergency Preparedness, Homeland Security and Cybersecurity. Applicants
should have a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Information Systems, Digital
Forensics, Information Security, Informatics, Accounting, or a
closely-related discipline from a college or university accredited by a
USDOE or internationally recognized accrediting organization. Candidates
are expected to have an earned Ph.D. by the starting date in September
2016, but we will consider exceptional ABD candidates who expect to defend
and complete their dissertation work in Fall 2016. Candidates should have
demonstrated the ability to work with and instruct culturally-diverse
groups of people. Salary and benefits are competitive.
