The School of Information Technology at the University of Cincinnati
seeks to hire one tenure track Assistant Professor in Cybersecurity to
start in August 2016. Review of the applications will start on October
1, 2015 until this position is filled. Applicants should submit a CV,
teaching and research statements, a list of at least three references
and a self-reflection video on the School’s strategic plan, IT2019

The University of Cincinnati is a research one University that was
established in 1819 and is home to more than 44,000 students. UC
campus was listed in Forbes magazine as being one of the world's most
beautiful campuses. The University recently developed a strategic plan

The School of Information Technology currently confers an ABET
accredited undergraduate degree in Information Technology (BSIT) and a
Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT), which cover the
areas of Networking/Systems, Software Application Development,
Cybersecurity, Database Management and Digital Media. A Ph.D. program
in Information technology is being developed.  Furthermore, the School
confers a minor in Information Technology and several certificates.
There are over 620 students in the School and 12 full-time faculty
members. The BSIT degree is a five-year coop degree and is one of the
first 10 in the nation to receive ABET accreditation.

The School of Information Technology (SoIT) is a vibrant and dynamic
unit that works in an interdisciplinary college to empower individuals
to become passionate, solution-minded Information Technology
professionals by fostering: continuous innovation, research,
leadership development, interdisciplinary problem solving and
real-world experience. The SoIT is a diverse, interdisciplinary,
team-oriented, dynamic and entrepreneurial environment. More

All faculty positions require teaching, research and service
responsibilities. Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses such as,
but not limited to, Enterprise Security and forensics, Software
Application Security, Penetration Testing, or Intrusion Prevention
Systems, and applied research in the areas of Cybersecurity,
information security, computer forensics or related areas is required.
Finally, service responsibilities to the School, College, University
and/or the community.

Candidates should have prior experience in teaching undergraduate or
graduate courses, which could have been as a teaching assistant or
adjunct faculty in areas of computing, informatics or information
technology. Candidates should have research experience in
Cybersecurity, network security, information security and forensics,
computer and network forensics, mobile security, or related areas.
Furthermore, candidates should have journal or conference publications

earned PhD in Information Technology or a related area is required
before time of appointment. Applicants with a minimum of ABD in
Information Technology or a related area will be considered for the
interview provided there is evidence that they will complete their PhD
by time of appointment.
