The University of Mary Hardin Baylor's Graduate School seeks Visiting Assistant / Associate Professor to teach in the Master of Science in Information Systems graduate program for the 2016-2017 academic year. This is a 9 month appointment beginning mid-August of 2016. UMHB seeks faculty who are active Christians and dedicated teacher-scholars to prepare students for leadership, service, and faith-informed discernment in a global society.
UMHB is conveniently located in Belton, an historic town of 19,000 in the heart of central Texas. Excellent schools, abundant cultural and recreational opportunities, and a high quality of life are hallmarks of the local community.
Faculty Responsibilities: Activities required of visiting faculty include exemplary teaching and service to department and college.
Specific Responsibilities: Teach graduate courses in information systems, information technology, web, systems analysis and design, database, and related courses. Full-time visiting graduate faculty members typically teach 4 graduate courses per semester.
Qualifications:
1. Doctorate in Information Systems, Information Technology, or related area is required.
2. Web/app development skills including knowledge of one or more of the following programming languages is sought: C#, JAVA, PHP, XML, ASP.net.
3. Database, network and security skills preferred. Business experience is preferred.
4. Excellent teaching and communication skills, a dedication to professional attainment, and commitment to quality improvement are essential.
5. Must be an active, committed Christian.
