The Department of Computer Science in Mercer University’s College of
Liberal Arts is accepting applications for a tenure track faculty position
at the rank of Assistant Professor.  The appointment will be effective
August 1, 2016.

Applicants should hold an earned doctorate in computer science, computer
engineering, information technology, or in a closely related area.
Applicants with ABD will be considered for the interview process provided
there is evidence that all degree requirements will be completed by time of
appointment. Applicants must have a demonstrated academic and/or
professional background in cyber security. This person will serve a key
role in the development of a cyber security program at Mercer University.

Applicants should have a strong commitment to undergraduate education.
Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in computer science
and information technology, directing undergraduate research projects, and
serving as faculty advisor for students majoring in computer science or
information science and technology. The successful applicant will also be
responsible for mentoring our Cyber Defense Competition Team.  Faculty
members are also encouraged to teach in the Interdisciplinary Studies
Program of the College.

The Computer Science Department, situated in the College of Liberal Arts,
offers the BS degrees in computer science, computational science, and
information science and technology. BA degrees are offered in both computer
science and information science and technology. The BS degree program in
computer science is accredited by ABET. The Department also offers
coursework in support of the Computer Engineering major that is offered
through the School of Engineering and the Business Information Systems
major offered by the School of Business.
