Assistant Professor- Department of Marketing, Information & Decision Science

The Department of Marketing, Information and Decision Sciences at the Anderson School of Management, University of New Mexico (UNM) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the area of Management Information Systems (MIS). The appointment begins no later than August 22, 2016. Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate courses in MIS or Information Assurance(IA). Candidates working in all areas of MIS and IA are encouraged to apply with special consideration given to candidates with an interest in information assurance, data analytics, data mining, business intelligence, and management of information systems. 

UNM Anderson School of Management is AACSB accredited. Its management programs enroll approximately 1,000 undergraduate students and 500 graduate students. The School emphasizes collaborative student interaction, active adult learning, team experiences and scholarship that draw upon a variety of methodologies and subject areas. New Mexico is an ethnically diverse state with a rich cultural heritage. UNM seeks a diverse faculty who can contribute to the University's mission and values. 

The MIS faculty is a moderate-sized cohesive group that is seeking to expand its course offerings to students of the Anderson School of Management. The MIS faculty support existing BBA, MS in Information Systems and Assurance, and MBA programs including concentrations in MIS and IA. 

UNM's main campus is located in Albuquerque. Major employers in the region include Kirtland Air Force Base, Los Alamos National Laboratories, Sandia National Laboratories, Intel, various governmental agencies, and many small and medium-sized businesses. Albuquerque is the largest city in the state of New Mexico. The city population was 561,379 as of the 2015 population estimates from the United States Census Bureau and ranks as the 32nd-largest city in the U.S.

Minimum Qualifications:	
Applicants must possess an earned doctorate or be a strong prospect of earning a doctorate by Fall 2016 in MIS or a closely related area.  

Preferred Qualifications:
*       Quality graduate-level education as evidenced by program accreditation by AACSB or similar accreditation in other disciplines, research productivity and reputation of program faculty, and/or program rankings published in academic journals. 
*       Evidence of or promise of a significant program of research and scholarship, such as top-tier peer reviewed journal articles, refereed conference proceedings and presentations, or other academic publications. 
*       Evidence of excellence or promise of achieving excellence in teaching MIS or IA core and concentration courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels. 
*       Teaching capability in areas such as information assurance, Data Mining, Data Analytics/Business Intelligence, and Management of IS.
*       A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities

Applicants who are appointed to a UNM continuing faculty position are required to provide an official certification of successful completion of all degree requirements prior to their initial employment with UNM.
