=========================== CALL FOR PAPERS ===========================
       12th European Dependable Computing Conference (EDCC 2016)
=======================================================================
http://edcc2016.eu

Gothenburg, Sweden, September 5-9, 2016

Description
-----------
EDCC 2016 offers a very unique event that will continue and leverage the history of past years of dependable computing, definitely mixing academic research and industrial experience being a forum to discuss today's challenges, and providing an umbrella for regular workshops. In addition to original papers on research, EDCC welcomes papers dedicated to dependability in practice: industrial applications, experience in introducing dependability in industry, use of new or mature dependability approaches to new challenging problems or domains, etc.

List of Topics
--------------
The conference targets a broad range of topics, which includes, but is not limited to:
- Hardware and software architecture of dependable systems.
- Safety critical systems.
- Embedded and real-time systems.
- Cyber-physical systems.
- Cloud computing dependability and security.
- Dependable mobile and multimedia systems.
- Fault-tolerant networks and protocols.
- Autonomic and adaptive systems.
- Dependable virtualization.
- VLSI dependability.
- Dependability modeling and tools.
- Testing and validation methods.
- Dependability benchmarking.
- Security of systems and networks.
- Intrusion-tolerant systems.
- Critical infrastructure protection.
- Big data and fault tolerance in databases and transactional systems.
- Dependability in socio-technical systems.

Important Dates
===============
* Abstract Submission: March 25, 2016
* Full Paper Submission: April 4, 2016
* Author Notification: May 27, 2016
* Camera Ready:	June 17, 2016

Paper Categories
----------------
EDCC 2016 will feature several tracks, including invited speakers, full paper presentations, fast abstracts, a student forum and a set of cutting-edge workshops. The proceedings of the conference will be published by IEEE CS.

The conference is inviting submissions to its different tracks in the following categories:
- Regular papers (10-12 pages) solicited on theory, techniques, systems, and tools for the design, validation, operation and evaluation of dependable and secure computing systems, covering any fault model, from traditional hardware and software faults to accidental and malicious human interactions.

- Practical experience reports (6-8 pages) dedicated to dependability in practice: industrial applications, experience in introducing dependability in industry, use of new or mature dependability approaches to new challenging problems or domains, etc.

- Short papers (3-4 pages) describing preliminary research work (position papers) or a prototype/tool description, outlining the design or implementation of a software tool, or the prototyping of an operational system.
All submissions must be made electronically through the EasyChair submission web page (EDCC2016), and should clearly indicate in which category the paper is being submitted.

Best Paper Award
----------------
Submissions will be judged on originality, significance, correctness and impact. Three distinguished papers will be selected among accepted papers and presented in a dedicated session of the conference program. Full research papers and practical experience reports are eligible for the distinction. Extended versions of selected papers will be invited for potential publication in a special issue of a high-impact international journal (pending).
