[AISWorld] AIS Council Election Nominations

This year's election for the new members of AIS Council is fast approaching. Consistent with our bylaws, a Nominating Committee was formed, and that committee has developed a slate of candidates who will stand for election. Here is the slate of available positions and associated candidates proposed by the Nominating Committee, listed in alphabetical order:

President-Elect (from Region 2
Armin Heinzl, University of Mannheim
Matti Rossi, Aalto University School of Business

VP of Publications
Deborah Compeau, Washington State University
Carol Saunders, Northern Arizona University


VP of SIGs, and Colleges
Lakshmi Iyer, University of North Carolina - Greensboro
Rhonda Syler, Louisiana Tech University

Regional Representative for Region 2
Roman Beck, IT University of Copenhagen
Paolo Spagnoletti, LUISS Guido Carli University

Regional Representative for Region 3
Ming-Hui Huang, National Taiwan University
Sean Xin XU, Tsinghua University


If you are interested in running for one of these AIS Council positions, you still have time to act. Any member of AIS can nominate him/herself or another person via petition. Here is what is required:

1. Each nomination must be accompanied by the signatures of 10 members in good standing. Electronic signatures will be accepted.
2. The nominee must be a member in good standing of AIS and must agree, by written notice to me, to stand for election.
3. Nominees by petition for President-Elect for the upcoming election must come from Region 2 - Europe/Africa/the Middle East. (The President-Elect position rotates among the regions each year.)
4. Nominations for Regional Representatives are for Regions 2 and 3 only.
5. Notice of a nomination must be submitted by March 31.

The election will be held electronically on or about April 15. Bio sketches and platforms will be available for each candidate at that time. We look forward to wide voter participation in this important event!
