Lecturer in Information Systems at UMass Amherst

Job Description:
The Operations & Information Management (OIM) Department of the Isenberg School of Management invites applications for a full-time Lecturer position, non-tenure track, in Information Systems to start in September 2016. Lecturers at UMass Amherst enjoy significant benefits and status under the negotiated faculty contract (see Article 21 of the MSP/MTA/NEA contract linked on this page: http://www.umass.edu/provost/faculty-staff-resources/policies-contracts). The Lecturer will join a team of faculty noted for excellence and innovation in undergraduate and graduate education. The successful candidate will work with faculty, teaching assistants, and advising staff to assess student outcomes and foster student success.

Requirements: 
Candidates must have a doctoral degree in Information Systems, or a related discipline, by August 31, 2016. The full-time position requires teaching two large sections and one online section of introductory information systems in both the Fall and Spring semesters, and one online section of introductory information systems in the summer. Teaching experience or evidence of expertise in teaching introductory information systems is required.

Demonstrated ability, or potential, to teach at the undergraduate level in face-to-face, large classroom, and distance education formats is required. Evidence of engagement with the business community and industry is desirable.

The department has a thriving undergraduate program in Operations & Information Management (with career opportunities in Information Systems and Supply Chain Management), contributes to a highly reputed MBA program, and also coordinates the Ph.D. track in Operations & Information Management for the doctoral program in Business Administration.
