Dear Colleagues

Registration for our third IS/IM mid-career workshop 'Bridging the Theory-Practice Divide with Mixed Qualitative Methods' led by Professor Robert Davison is now open. The workshop is limited to 20 participants and places are filling up fast.

In this workshop, Robert will focus on how researchers can leverage topics in the space that connects research and practice, with a particular focus on mixed qualitative methods. This will involve both seminar-type presentations and participation from the workshop attendees. This participation will be oriented towards planning for a research study to be undertaken in this research-practice space.

Robert will discuss the nature of the theory-practice divide (TPD), the opportunities that TPD research provides for publication, illustrations of how TPD articles can be published in top journals and the use of mixed methods for TPD research. The workshop will be highly interactive and is designed to encourage the development of collaborations between participants to takeaway outline project plans for further development and publication.

Professor Robert Davison is a Professor in the Department of Information Systems at City University of Hong Kong. His research focuses on virtual knowledge management initiatives in Chinese organisations. Robert is co-Editor-in-Chief of the Information Systems Journal and Information Technology & People.
