Position #1: The School of Information Management seeks to appoint a Professor in Information Systems - a leadership role which will inspire 'cutting edge' thinking.

The School of Information Management, Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand seeks to appoint a Professor of proven leadership ability with a strong publication record and an international reputation in research. The Professor is expected to take a lead in three areas. The first is within the university community, contributing to Victoria's strategic initiatives. It also involves growing the networks and relationship of the Information Systems group with the wider community both internationally and nationally, among both academics and practitioners. Finally fostering collaboration between academia and industry will be especially important considering the recent launch of the Wellington ICT Graduate School.

The School of Information Management offers a wide array of programmes, from undergraduate to doctoral levels. It is a growing School which values innovation. The School recruited four new academic staff in the past year (victoria.ac.nz/sim/about/news/recent-academic-recruitment) and is advertising two new positions. Located in downtown Wellington, the School is in the central business district, next to Parliament and many government agencies.

The candidate should have demonstrated academic leadership and substantial academic experience. A capacity to extend the School's interface with relevant academic, professional and practitioner communities both nationally and internationally is expected.

Position #2: The School of Information Management seeks to appoint an Associate Professor or Senior Lecturer in Information Systems - a leading role in a fast developing School.

The School of Information Management, Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand seeks to appoint an Associate Professor or a Senior Lecturer to undertake teaching and research of high quality, to provide leadership in programme development, and to actively contribute to the effective management of the School. The ability to teach across both managerial and technically oriented Information Systems courses is an advantage.

An Associate Professor is expected to actively grow the School network of collaborators with academics worldwide. In addition, taking into account the recent launch of the Wellington ICT Graduate School, the role will involve collaboration with industry partners, active participation in post-experience programmes, and fostering of interactions between the School and the business community.
