Calling all Associate Professors, including those who have attended a
mid-career workshop in the past!!! The AMCIS 2016 Mid-Career Workshop is
an interactive, peer-led workshop for mid-career faculty, by mid-career
faculty, and is designed just for you. The workshop will be held on
Thursday, August 11th from 7:30am-1:00pm.

This is a workshop for mid-career faculty, by mid-career faculty!!!!

Mid-career tenured and/or associate professors comprise over half of the
faculty in higher education. They are the back-bone of their
institutions; they produce more published articles, teach more students,
and participate in more service activities than faculty at any other
career stage (DeFilippo and Giles, 2015). Mid-career faculty play a
critical role in advancing the missions of their universities; however, in
spite of their important and continuing contributions, it is not uncommon
for mid-career faculty to feel "stuck", pulled in too many directions, and
missing the vitality and motivation they had on the tenure track.
With few guidelines available for associate professors, it can be
difficult to keep from getting stuck in a rut a mid-career. Although
these feelings are common at mid-career they are rarely discussed openly.
In fact, while the importance of faculty development for junior faculty is
widely recognized, faculty development at mid-career is often over looked.
The Mid-Career Faculty workshop seeks to create an environment for
mid-career faculty to engage in peer-led faculty development that
facilitates opportunities to engage with peers, exchange experiences, and
discover new opportunities.
This peer-led workshop is specifically for mid-career faculty. This
workshop is appropriate for any faculty member that has received tenure
and/or promotion to Associate Professor. Individuals at all stages of
associate professor may find this workshop useful, from newly tenured
faculty members to those that have settled into their role as an associate
professor. Those that have attended other mid-career workshops are
welcome to come, participate, share, and learn from other associate
professors.

This workshop will take place on Thursday, August 11th from 7:30am -
1:00pm, prior to the start of AMCIS 2016.

Breakfast and lunch will be served to participants. The cost of the
workshop is $25. Participants can register as part of the AMCIS 2016
registration process.
