Assistant Professor of Security Studies at The University of New Hampshire at Manchester

The University of New Hampshire at Manchester invites applications for a tenure-track position in Security Studies at the rank of Assistant Professor who will teach in cyber security, digital forensics/information assurance within an established Homeland Security degree program and who will help to design and teach in a graduate cybersecurity program. This position has an anticipated start date of January 2017. 

In addition to either a JD or an earned doctorate in computer science or in a discipline closely related to Homeland / Cybersecurity and field experience, the candidate should have experience in program development as well as experience in collegiate teaching in cybersecurity/digital forensics.   

UNH seeks a faculty member that can lead in the design and development of a cybersecurity management and policy-oriented degree program (to include information security, cybersecurity, incident response, and digital forensics). Designation as CISSP is preferred as well as demonstrated experience with InfraGard, and/or similar agencies/organizations, and an understanding of the role cybersecurity has in overall domestic cybersecurity/information assurance policy, operations and tactics.  Primary tasks will include program and course development, teaching courses, and relationship building with external organizations and agencies, internship management and advising.  Teaching obligations include 12 undergraduate credit hours per semester (a 3x3 load) that will include graduate and online obligations.  Teaching areas require some flexibility in order to cover a variety of courses that may include homeland security courses in addition to cybersecurity/digital forensics courses. Other essential duties include scholarship, general curriculum development, and committee participation as well as duties designed to support the homeland security program.  This is a nine-month, academic year position, with the possibility of summer teaching assignments.
