Visiting Assistant Professor of Business Analytics

Oakland University invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor
of Business Analytics position that will begin in August 2016.  Applicants
should have a Ph.D. in Management Information Systems or Computer
Information Systems or related field from an accredited AACSB International
or equivalent accredited institution. Applicants with ABD status will also
be considered.

Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in
Business Analytics and Management Information Systems.  Effective teaching
experience or ability to teach at the master's level desired. Scholarly
activity that has positively impacted academic or professional audiences is
a plus. A background in big data management, Hadoop Eco System and other big
data tools and technologies is desirable, but not necessary.

 

Required Qualifications: 

*         A Ph.D. or ABD status in Management Information Systems or
Computer Information Systems or equivalent degree from an accredited AACSB
International or equivalent accredited institution.

*         Candidates should be able to teach Business Analytics and
Management Information Systems courses. 

*         Potential for or evidence of achievement in scholarship such as
presentations at scholarly conferences and/or journal articles;

*         Potential for or evidence of teaching effectiveness demonstrated
by evaluations and reference letters.

Desired Characteristics/Qualifications: 

*         Background in big data management, Hadoop Eco System and other big
data tools and technologies, and predictive analytics;

*         Potential for successful interactions with the business community;

*         Evidence of clearly developed research track in a relevant field;
