The American University of Sharjah (AUS) seeks applications and
nominations for the position of Dean of the School of Business
Administration. 

 

The Dean leads a School of 85 faculty members, with enrollment of 1,400
undergraduate and 100 graduate students. The School offers the Bachelor of
Science in Business Administration degree with majors in Accounting,
Economics, Finance, Management, Management Information Systems, and
Marketing. The School also offers a Bachelor of Arts in Economics degree.
Graduate degrees include the Master of Business Administration, the Master
of Science in Accounting, and the Executive Master of Business
Administration. The School is accredited by the Association to Advance
Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and recently completed a successful
reaccreditation review.

 

The successful candidate will possess an earned doctorate in a business or
related field and a distinguished record of leadership, preferably within
the American higher education model. The new Dean will build on the strong
reputation of the School as one of the best in the region and work with a
committed faculty to help advance the University's mission of educating
lifelong learners who display mastery in their majors and who communicate
clearly, think critically, and solve problems creatively. The new Dean
will lead the implementation of a PhD program as approved by the AUS Board
of Trustees in 2015.

 

Founded in 1997 by the Ruler of Sharjah, the American University of
Sharjah is a comprehensive, independent, non-profit coeducational
university based on American models of higher education, which feature a
liberal arts core. AUS provides broad access to highly motivated students
from all countries, while maintaining academic standards appropriate and
consistent with U.S. universities.

 

AUS is accredited in the United States by the Middle States Commission on
Higher Education. AUS is also licensed by the UAE Ministry of Higher
Education and Scientific Research.
