The Rowe School of Business invites applications for a probationary tenure-track or tenure-track appointment in Management Information Systems at the rank of Lecturer, Assistant Professor or Associate Professor (dependent upon qualifications and experience) commencing July 1, 2017. Applicants must have a PhD or be ABD (preferably in Management Information Systems or a related field). Evidence of teaching effectiveness and of research performance or potential is required. Experience with experiential learning approaches in a flipped classroom model and computer lab environment is strongly desired. Candidates must be able to meet the School's accrediting body's (AACSB) academic qualification requirements.

The successful applicant will be expected to engage in leading-edge research with faculty and students in Management Information Systems, to teach introductory MIS at the graduate and undergraduate levels, and to contribute to the academic life of the School through committee service and other activities. Preference will be given to candidates who are also able to teach advanced electives such as Business Analytics and Data Visualization, Databases and Data Mining, Research Methods in MIS/HCI, Cyber-Physical Systems Design or Business Process Integration using ERP Systems. While recent experience teaching with SAP and ERPSim will be considered an asset, we will provide training as needed.

The Rowe School of Business is part of the Faculty of Management, which has a unique commitment to values-based management and interdisciplinary research and learning. Thus, the successful candidate will have opportunities to work with like-minded colleagues in the sister Schools of Public Administration, Information Management, and Resource and Environmental Studies within the Faculty.
Information about the Rowe School of Business and its programs may be found at http://www.dal.ca/faculty/management/rsb.html.

All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, Canadians and permanent residents will be given priority. Dalhousie University is committed to fostering a collegial culture grounded in diversity and inclusiveness. The university encourages applications from qualified Aboriginal people, persons with a disability, racially visible persons, women, persons of minority sexual orientations and gender identities, and all qualified candidates who would contribute to the diversity of our community.

Applicants should send a c.v., copies of their previous teaching evaluations (if any), a statement of research interests and a statement of teaching philosophy to Ms. Miriam Breslow (mbreslow at dal.ca), Room 3060, Kenneth C. Rowe Management Building, Dalhousie University, 6100 University Avenue, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, B3H 4R2, no later than October 17, 2016.
