The IT department at HEC Montreal (http://www.hec.ca/en/) is hiring an assistant, associate or full professor in information technology (IT). Interviews will be organized with prospective candidates at the ICIS 2016 conference in Dublin, or otherwise if necessary. The recruiting committee at ICIS 2016 will be composed of Prof. Guy Pare (guy.pare at hec.ca<mailto:guy.pare at hec.ca>), Prof. Pierre-Majorique Leger, Prof. Ryad Titah and Prof. Stefan Tams.

The head of the IT department is Prof. Jean Talbot (jean.talbot at hec.ca<mailto:jean.talbot at hec.ca>). The department currently has 18 faculty members. It hosts three research chairs (Canada Research Chair in Information Technology Implementation and Management, Research Chair in Digital Health, Research Chair in Strategic Management of Information Technology), two research professorships, and several active research groups (Research Group on Information Systems, ERPsim Lab, and Tech3Lab). Our faculty includes current and former editors of top IS journals including MISQ and JAIS. We offer a large range of programs:

*         IT major in the undergraduate Bachelor of Commerce

*         Undergraduate and graduate diplomas in e-commerce

*         IT option in the MBA program

*         Masters of Science (M.Sc.) in Information Technology

*         Masters of Science (M.Sc.) in e-commerce

*         Ph.D. in Information Systems

Candidates must have a Ph.D., or be near completion of a Ph.D. in MIS. Teaching excellence is required, as well as a strong aptitude for research and a marked interest for publication. Candidates must also have a very good knowledge of technological environments and of software applications commonly used in organizations.

HEC Montreal is recognized as a world leader in business education. The main language of instruction is French; however, there are several programs and courses offered in English and in Spanish. Although knowledge of French is not a prerequisite, faculty are expected to be able to teach and work in French after 2 years (and are provided with support, such as private lessons and coaching, to help them reach this objective). It is highly recommended to mention any prior knowledge of French or a similar language in your application file.  Standard teaching load at HEC Montreal is 4/year, but 3/year during the first 2 years.
