The Management Science and Systems Department within the School of Management at the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York, seeks Assistant, Associate or Full Professor candidates for an open-rank faculty position starting Fall 2017. Responsibilities include carrying out the research, teaching and service mission of the School. We are interested in candidates with a research record in health care information systems, information assurance, privacy, and security, the digital economy, social media, virtual communities, mobile systems, electronic markets, and database design. We will also consider individuals with a strong research record in other areas including, but not limited to, IT business value, IT innovation, IT governance and strategy, and IT entrepreneurship, labor and policy. The ability to teach courses in any of the areas of security and assurance, cloud computing, virtualization or IT project management would be a plus.

Applicants must have a strong research program and an earned doctorate in information systems or a related field with research competence and assurance of receiving the doctorate before August 31, 2017. Qualifications will include a demonstrated interest in, and capacity to conduct research publishable in top academic outlets, as well as an ability and motivation to provide excellent teaching. Successful candidates must also be highly collaborative, collegial, and have interests in being part of and contributing to a department and school that is actively building strong ties with the business community and conducting impactful research and teaching.
