The Department of Computer Science at the University of Würzburg
(Germany) invites applications for appointment as
Professor (tenured) for "Secure Software Systems" (Universitätsprofessur
BesGr. W2)
(deadline for applications: October 30, 2016)
Applicants should have earned international recognition in at least one
of the following areas:
- Development of secure software systems and security management
- Data security and privacy-compliant software systems
- Security analysis, verification and evaluation of security mechanisms
- Security of networked, mobile, and distributed systems
- Security of Cloud and Big Data environments
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in applying
scientific research results to practical applications, as well as
obtaining and managing external funding. The successful applicant will
be expected to collaborate with local and international institutions,
for example, as part of joint DFG (German Research Foundation) projects.
Requirements for applying are: possession of a doctoral university
degree, excellent skills in teaching and research, completed
habilitation (post-doctoral degree) or comparable research experience in
the area of secure software systems, obtained as part of an academic or
non-academic position.
At the time of appointment, candidates may not have exceeded 52 years of
age (exceptions possible in circumstances defined in gem. Art. 10 Abs. 3
Satz 2 BayHSchPG). The University of Würzburg greatly values intensive
