We would like to disseminate through aisworld mailing list the call to fill
the position of Head of the United Nations University Operating Unit on
Policy-driven Electronic Governance (UNU-EGOV) in Guimarães, Portugal.

 

The United Nations University (UNU) is searching for an entrepreneurial head
of its Operating Unit on Policy-driven Electronic Governance (UNU-EGOV) in
Guimarães, Portugal. The focus of the Operating Unit, hosted by the
University of Minho, is to support the United Nations system and UN Member
States in transforming the mechanisms of governance and building effective
governance capabilities through strategic applications of information and
communication technologies to contribute to inclusive social development,
inclusive economic development, environmental sustainability, and peace and
security.

The activities of UNU-EGOV include (1) policy-relevant research; (2)
translation of research findings into relevant policy instruments; (3)
building capacity in localising and applying such instruments within and
among governments, the UN system, and academic and other relevant
organisations; (4) building and maintaining research and policy networks to
share the lessons learnt, foster mutual learning, and bridge research and
policy worlds; and (5) monitoring, evaluating, and disseminating the latest
developments in the subject area.
